This is a comparison of published specifications, not an application recommendation or a substitution proposal. Neither a lower cell mass nor a larger rate or cycle figure establishes a better choice for your system. Technical suitability is evaluated by the manufacturer or customer.
Start with the published records
Read capacity with its reference condition, and retain every mass and dimension tolerance. The records below come from the current public catalogue; the offered manufacturer, model and revision still need confirmation during procurement.

1. Check the system voltage boundaries
Write down the equipment’s operating voltage range and the charger and protection settings before comparing series counts. Nominal voltage is only one reference point; it does not replace the charge and discharge limits.
CAT-0012: Charge cutoff voltage: 4.2 V; Discharge cutoff voltage: 2.75 V CAT-0010: Charge cutoff voltage: 4.25 V; Discharge cutoff voltage: 3 V Match the charger and protection settings to the offered cell’s charge and discharge limits.
Use the calculator linked below to examine nominal arithmetic for each cell. A matching calculated pack voltage does not establish that the equipment, charger or protection settings are compatible.
2. Separate sustained duty, short loads and temperature
Describe the sustained current or power, each peak’s duration and repetition, recovery time and operating temperature. A rate-discharge test method is not sufficient evidence for a permitted continuous pack current. Keep cell temperature limits separate from the complete pack’s thermal, connection and protection constraints.
CAT-0012: Rate discharge reference: 3C · Rate discharge method in the specification; temperature and system integration require review.; Short-duration discharge: 5C · 60 s CAT-0010: Rate discharge reference: 10C · Rate discharge method in the specification; temperature and system integration require review. Keep the rate-discharge method, high-rate range and timed short discharge separate; confirm the permitted sustained duty, temperature and pack limits.
An entry without a published timed short-discharge figure needs confirmation; do not derive one from its rate-discharge reference. Check charge duty separately, including any partial-SOC method.
CAT-0012: Standard charge reference: 0.33C · Standard charge reference; confirm temperature and cutoff conditions.; Fast charge reference: 1C · Fast charge method in the specification; not a universal charge rating.; Partial-SOC charge reference: 2C · Only 0–60% SOC, as specified; not full-range charge current. CAT-0010: Standard charge reference: 0.5C · Standard charge reference; confirm temperature and cutoff conditions.; Fast charge reference: 5C · Fast charge method in the specification; not a universal charge rating. Review the stated charge method with its temperature, SOC range and cutoff conditions for your duty.
3. Check the installation envelope and mass budget
Compare the full thickness, width and length envelope with its tolerances, then request the applicable tab drawing. Review the support, fixture, insulation and connection requirements for your assembly rather than treating the cell body dimensions as a complete installation drawing.
CAT-0012: Dimensions · T × W × L: 8.5 ±0.3 × 74 ±1 × 172 ±2 mm · Thickness × width × length; tab dimensions are specified separately. CAT-0010: Dimensions · T × W × L: 10.3 ±0.3 × 87 ±1 × 187 ±2 mm · Thickness × width × length; tab dimensions are specified separately. Retain each tolerance when checking the installation space, and request the applicable tab drawing.
The mass references in the table describe cells. A complete pack budget also requires connections, protection or management hardware, enclosure and other project components. The mass difference alone does not explain materials, establish suitability or permit substitution.
4. Compare cycle tests before comparing counts
Put the test temperature, charge and discharge method, capacity-retention threshold, voltage window, depth of discharge and fixture requirements beside the cycle count. Different conditions do not establish which cell will last longer in your duty.
CAT-0012: Cycle-life reference: ≥800 cycles · 25±2°C · 0.5C / 3C · ≥80% capacity retention · 2.9–4.2 V · 97% DOD · with fixture CAT-0010: Cycle-life reference: ≥1200 cycles · 45±2°C · 5C / 10C · ≥80% capacity retention · 100% DOD; High-temperature cycle reference: ≥800 cycles · 60±2°C · 5C / 10C · 95% DOD · ≥80% capacity retention Compare temperature, charge/discharge method, retention threshold, voltage window, DOD and fixture requirements before using cycle counts as a selection basis.
Request the missing conditions and an applicable test report for the offered revision before setting an acceptance target. A catalogue cycle reference is not a calendar-life or warranty commitment.
5. Prepare the sample request
Once you have recorded these constraints, send the information needed to confirm which offered revision can be evaluated. You can discuss both catalogue references without treating them as interchangeable.
- State whether you are buying cells or requesting a finished pack; include the intended use, quantity, destination and sample timing.
- Provide your voltage window, sustained and peak duty with durations, temperature range, installation and mass constraints, and evaluation criteria. Mark unknown items for follow-up.
- Confirm the actual manufacturer, model, offered revision and current full datasheet. Request cell, tab, dimension and permitted label photos that correspond to that revision.
- Ask which datasheet, SDS and UN 38.3 test-summary files can be shared and how each corresponds to the offered cell. Their availability and certification applicability need confirmation.
- Agree the sample terms, acceptance checks, lead time and supply arrangements before ordering.
Real product photographs have not been provided for these pages. This comparison does not verify current stock, document availability or a supply commitment.
